In general, elections in India are conducted in the
summer months like April and May as the examinations for schools and colleges
are scheduled. The Election Commission announced the election dates in April
2021 and the counting of votes to take place on May 2. All the political
parties are active in selecting candidates to get a comfortable majority in the
Assemblies. The party people are busy devising their strategies to allot seats
and select candidates. The media gets every-minute breaking news for conveying
to the public. I closely follow that news and views by the political experts.
Every political leader claims that their party will come to power next time.
That’s their hope and goal for them.
The month of April is going to be very hot in all four
states and one UT. In addition, the second wave of corona pandemic is on its way.
Considering all these, we do not know how many will go and vote in April. The Election
Commission has increased the number of polling stations considerably and
one-hour extra time to felicitate the smooth running of a fair election. In
general, 60 to 75% polling is an expected estimate. The rest of the 25 to 40%
of voters do not vote due to various reasons. I belong to this category.
The leaders of National parties visit these states and
UT more than once and conduct political meetings to influence the people to
vote for their party candidates and also for the party they are associated
with. Interestingly the ruling party in the Centre has allotted a number of
projects in the field of infrastructure facilities in order to convince the
common people to vote for them.
In fact, in a democracy, this is the
way the politicians make their party come to power. I do not know why so many
people assemble in the political meetings, taking selfies, shouting slogans,
offering flower bouquets and colorful shawls. I consider such meetings give an
opportunity for young politicians to join one of these parties to make their
life prosperous by becoming a member of the legislative assembly (MLA) and
later on a minister. Hopes are high. We the common people see all these dramas
and enjoy the way people dance to the tunes of their heroes. Let’s wait and see
the results on 2 May 2021. - NARA
1. Get rid of ego
2. Avoid loose talks
meaningless, useless without knowing the consequences
3. Handle the
problems and other things diplomatically and carefully
4. Always be ready
for a consequence
5. Sometimes minor
problems/difficulties have to be borne with tolerance
6. Don’t be adamant
till the last minute that whatever you said and did are correct while arguing
with others
7. Give up
narrow-mindedness
8. Don’t carry tales,
whenever you say, what you have heard here and there, without finding out which
is the truth 9. Never superior of yourself. There is always a better person
than you
10. Don’t have over
expectations beyond the limit and requirement
1. Coca-Cola was
originally green.
2. The most common name in
the world is Mohammed.
3. The name of all the
continents ends with the same letter that they start with.
4. The strongest muscle in
the body is the tongue.
5. There are two credit
cards for every person in the United States.
6. TYPEWRITER is the longest word that can be made using the letters only on one row of the keyboard.
7. Women blink nearly twice
as much as men!
8. You can't kill yourself
by holding your breath..
9. It is impossible to
lick your elbow.
10. People say 'Bless you' when you sneeze because when you
sneeze, your heart stops for a millisecond.
2. Break outside your comfort zone. Being comfortable doesn't make you
happy—challenging yourself does.
3. Follow your gut. Most of the time your first instinct is not only correct,
but the best choice.
4. Don't regret your decisions. If it turns out you were wrong, don't waste
time worrying about it, instead make the next best decision and move forward.
5. Accept that you can't be happy all the time. Focus on being content and the
truly happiness will be all that much sweeter.
6. Try to see from others' perspectives. Much of our unhappiness comes from our
frustration with other people not understanding us. Try to imagine how they see
the world and the frustration will ease.
7. Let the little things go. There's no sense in wasting your energy and
inhibiting your happiness by worrying about things you can't change.
8. Make the decision to be happy. Happiness is an attitude, not a physical
state.
9. Don't take things personally. So often, anger and frustration directed at us
is a result of someone else's misplaced stress.
10. Savor the small moments. People who take longer to enjoy small moments and
then reflect on them later in the day show significant increases in happiness.
It’s great to have knowledge
coming in, but if that information isn’t retained, you're not helping
yourself. Here are a few ways you can improve your memory and get more out of
learning.
Listen to music. Research
suggests that certain types of music can help you to recall memories.
Information learned while listening to a particular song or collection can more
easily be recalled when the corresponding song is recited mentally.
Try speed reading. Save yourself
time while studying by learning how to speed read. The practice will make you
more efficient and can also help you to better absorb the material. How?
Reading slowly can hinder your ability to take in new information (unless It’s
a technical subject) and speed reading also offers you the chance to filter out
irrelevant information.
We don’t see things as they are, we see them as we
are. – Anais Nin
“An investment in
knowledge always pays the best interest.”

An American tourist in London wanders around, seeing the sights
and occasionally stopping at some small pub to have a pint of beer. After a
while, he finds himself in a very nice neighborhood with stately residences. No
pubs, no restaurants, and worst of all no public restrooms. However, he really has to pee, after all
those pints of beer. He finds a narrow side street, with high walls surrounding
the adjacent buildings and decides to use the wall to solve his problem.
He is tapped on the shoulder by a London Bobby, who says,
"Sir, you simply cannot do that here."
"I'm very sorry, officer," replies the American,
"but I really have to pee, and I just can't find a public restroom."
"Just follow me" says Bobby. Then he leads the
American to a back delivery alley to a gate, which he opens. "In there,"
points the Bobby, "whiz away sir, anywhere you like."
The fellow enters and finds himself in the most beautiful garden he has ever seen manicured grass lawns, big fountains,
sculptured hedges, and huge beds of flowers.
He relieves himself immediately. As he goes back through the gate,
he says to the Bobby "That was really nice of you. Is that what you call
English hospitality? "
"No sir...” replied the Bobby,
"that is what we call the American Embassy."
