HAPPY NEW YEAR (2024) TO YOU ALL

MEMO FROM NARA

Many things have happened in 2023. One of the last sad things happened on 28 December 2023 was the demise of cine actor and political leader Mr. Vijaykanth at Chennai. Millions of people from Tamil Nadu assembled to pay their last respects to him. It was an unforgettable incident. The year has gone. We are in 2024. We have seen things happened in the world, in our country, in our state, in our district, in our colony, and in our family. Some were happy incidents and some other sad and sorrowful events. Anyway we expect similar or better incidents in 2024. Let’s hope for a better future.

NARA’S NOTEPAD is completing 20 successful years of publication. Every month the blog satisfied its readers like you and day by day the numbers of readers increasing leaps and bound. I feel proud that I could share some information needed for everyone’s life. I do read a lot and pick up what I like and try to share in my blog. By doing so, I get a great satisfaction of sharing what I know. We all should do it. Do not keep them as secrets. Knowledge is open to all. Let’s share with fellow human beings.

Everyone has New Year (2024) resolutions to carry out. I wish, you faithfully follow and get success in all your attempts. Learning new skills in 2024 certainly will bring benefits to all of us.

There are many more opportunities expected in the coming year. Let’s pursue and get the pleasure out of them. I wish you all a happy and prosperous New Year. - NARA

SUNRISE

SUNRISE

As dawn embrace, the night unveils,

A quite world, where darkness pales,

A golden promise on the brink,

As morning’s breath begins to link.

The sky aglow with hues so bright,

Painting the heavens with sheer delight,

The sun ascends, a fiery sphere,

Is gentle warmth, now drawing near.

Awakening Earth in hues of gold,

Stories of wonder yet untold,

Birdsongs weave through morning’s mist,

A symphony no soul can resist.

With each new ray, a world reborn,

Hope in the light of each morn,

The sunrise whispers, dreams take flight,

A canvas anew, with endless light.

QUESTIONS TO CREATE

Why must it be done this way?

What is the root problem?

What are the underlying issues?

What does this remind me of?

What is the opposite?

What metaphor or symbol helps to explain it?

Why is it important?

What’s the hardest or most expensive way to do it?

Who has a different perspective on this?

What happens if we don’t do it at all?

COLORING IS THE NEW YOGA

The French started this trend-coloration (coloring to de-stress). Adult color books are selling more than cookbooks. Researchers have now scientifically proven that coloring has the same effect on the brain as deep breathing and meditation. According to psychologist Dr. Stan Rodski, it makes the brain younger. The experiment showed as people color their brains go from beta mode (which is around 30 cycles per second), into alpha mode (which is between 5 and 15 cycles per second). The brain goes into a slow and relaxation mode.

UNSUCCESSFUL PEOPLE

Even though human beings are bestowed with tremendous potential powers and also with the availability of all those things in this world which can make them happy, most of the people are unhappy and unsuccessful. There are broadly five important traits of unsuccessful and unhappy people, because of which they are not able to lead a satisfactory life and enjoy happiness.

1.                 They are always complaining: These people are never happy with anything they have got and with what is happening around them. They always complain for everything which is happening around them. If it rains they complain about the rain and when the sun shines, they complain about the harsh sunshine. When they fail at something, they complain about others’ non-cooperation and when they fall sick they complain about bad food, pollution, contaminated water, cloudy weather, disturbing sound in the neighborhood etc.

2.                 They act before they think: People act impulsively and later on regret their actions. They do not weigh the pros and cons of their actions/decisions and when they fail or face obstructions they repent their decisions.

3.                 They talk more and listen less: People have the habit of talking too much and not listening to others. They do not realize that when we talk, it is based on what is known to us, but what we listen to others, we listen to what they know and may come cross something we were previously unaware of. Since they do not listen to others, their growth comes to a standstill and because of excessive talk others maintain their distance from them.

4.                 People dwell in the past: They remember painful incidents from the past and in the process miss out on enjoying the present. They judge everything that happens in their life based on past experiences, thus unconsciously, accumulating more pain in the present.

5.                 People give up easily: They get easily disappointed and depressed. They have no strength to face failures and lose self-confidence at the drop of a hat. They have low patience and they harbor negative feelings about their future. They do not realize that patience and perseverance are keys to success.

Always remember, happy and successful ones are not those who get the best of everything in life but those who make the best of everything they get in life. – Satguru Rameshji

TO QUOTE

We don’t see things as they are; we see them as we are. – Anais Nin

JUST TO LAUGH

For years, three violin makers co-existed on the same block in Cremona, Italy. Then one day, the Amati family put a sign in their shop window saying “We make the best violins in Italy.” The Guarneri family soon put a sign in their window proclaiming: “We make the best violins in the world.” Finally, the Stradivarius family responded with this sign: “We make the best violin on the block.”

What’s an honest politician in a third world country? They take the bribe and then actually do what they promised.

BREVITY IS THE SOUL OF SUCCESSFUL COMMUNICATION

EVERYONE SELLS SOMETHING

It is true that almost everyone sells something, whether it is a product, a service, or even themselves. Even if someone is not in a traditional sales role, they are still trying to persuade others to see things from their perspective, to buy into their ideas, or to take action based on their recommendations.

For example, a doctor may not be selling a physical product, but they are selling their expertise and knowledge to their patients. A teacher may not be selling a physical product either, but they are selling their knowledge and skills to their students. In both cases, the goal is to convince someone to take action based on their recommendations.

In a more traditional sense, sales people are constantly selling products and services to potential customers. They use various techniques and strategies to persuade customers to buy their products, including highlighting the benefits of the product, addressing customer concerns, and creating a sense of urgency.

Ultimately, selling is a fundamental aspect of human interaction and communication. Whether we are selling a product, a service, or ourselves, we are constantly trying to persuade others to take action based on our recommendations.

Selling has indeed become a profession for many people, with sales roles existing in virtually every industry and sector. In fact, sales is often considered one of the most important functions of any business, as it is responsible for generating revenue and driving growth.

Sales professionals are typically responsible for identifying potentially responsible for identifying potential customers, building relationships with them, and persuading them to buy products or services. They may use a variety of tactics, such as cold calling, networking, and advertizing, to reach their target market. They are able to build rapport with potential customers, identify their needs and pain points, and offer solutions that meet those needs.

While selling may not be the right career path for everyone, it can be a rewarding and lucrative profession for those who excel in it. Sales professionals have the opportunity to work in a variety of industries, from technology to healthcare to finance, and can often earn significant commissions and bonuses based on their performance.

While it is true that selling often involves money, it is important to note that not all sales practices are corrupt. In fact, many sales practices are corrupt. In fact, many sales professionals operate with the highest ethical standard and work hard to build trust and credibility with their customers.

However, there are certainly instances where corruption can occur in sales, such as when sales people engage in bribery, kickbacks, or other unethical practices in order to secure sales. This can have serious consequences, both for the individuals involved and for the organizations they represent.

To address this issue, it is important for organizations to establish clear ethical guidelines and codes of conduct for their sales teams. These guidelines should outline the expectations for ethical behavior, and provide guidance on how to handle situations where ethical dilemmas arise.

Additionally, organizations should provide regular training and education to their sales teams on ethical practices and the consequences of unethical practices and the consequences of unethical behavior. This can help to ensure that sales professionals understand to make ethical decisions in their day-to-day work.

Finally, it is important for organizations to have strong internal controls and over sight mechanisms in place to detect and prevent corrupt practices. This can include regular audits, monitoring of sales practices, and reporting mechanisms for employees to raise concerns about unethical behavior.

By taking these steps, organizations can work to promote ethical sales practices and prevent corruption from occurring in their sales teams.
