“I’ll not believe unless I
see” is an argument often put forth by some
people. “We cannot see everything, to believe,” some others say. “God cannot be
seen, so I do not believe in God,” some say this way. Hence idols are made to
represent God so that people can see and believe in God. Seeing and believing are
very good concepts, but it has a lot of limitations. Even if we see a murder, and
we know who committed the crime, the court will not accept it unless we provide
certain proof and evidence. Making someone believe certain things are
difficult; however, convincing with logical evidence will work.
Earlier if a match is played in England, we can hear the audio
commentary on the radio. Whatever the commentator says we will imagine and believe.
Today live matches are seen on TV and we believe whatever we see. Therefore, as
we advance in technology we try to accept the concept of seeing as believing.
Close circuit video cameras are fixed in hotels, important traffic
junctions, roads, railway stations, airports, supermarkets, malls, banks etc., The
movement of people is closely monitored through CC TVs in important places.
Most of the things in Nature are seen by us and thus we believe. Some
of the things which we never see are blindly believed. The superstitious
beliefs cannot be seen but heard from mouth to mouth. People have faith in
them, so they believe. Anything abnormal is very difficult to believe unless we
see it. So evidence is expected for believing.
Scientist while trying to find the truth, makes a hypothesis which
is only a belief, and design experiments to prove the hypothesis. When the
proof is repeatable, sometimes visible is accepted as a theory. Everyone
believes the theory. Visual evidence can be easily believed. A plant if it
wilts because of want of water we can see and believe that the plant cannot
survive without water. If someone says the plant has wilted and died, then we
make many queries to find out the truth because we have not seen the wilted
plant. Sometimes we will be misguided by visual evidence. Counterfeit
currencies are examples. Similarly, photographs or voices can be manipulated
and make one believe. Therefore, control even in visual evidence has
become necessary. How far the visual evidence is truthful?
Day by day ‘seeing is believing’ also getting more criticism from
different quarters. No thief or criminal accepts their mistake unless it is
proven. Although we know someone is a known thief or criminal, we cannot punish
him or her straight away. It has to be proved with all kinds of evidence and
arguments for and against. The judiciary
plays an important role with the help of the police, intelligence service, Interpol
etc.,
Sometimes proof may be wrong and the
innocent person is punished.
Maybe a very small per cent falls under such
cases. A blind person cannot see, but still, he believes the things which he has
not seen. He may touch, smell, hear or feel to believe certain things. For him,
‘seeing is believing is not acceptable. Therefore, when we apply this concept,
it has to take with a pinch of salt. Seeing is a great opportunity offered to
live beings to lead happy life. All the time, we see things around us
including friends, relatives, people and all other things. Whether we believe it or not, sight is the great boon we have.
Let us make use of it even for believing. - NARA
Though
there is much to be concerned about, there is far, far more for which to be
thankful. Though life's goodness can at
times be overshadowed, it is never outweighed.
For every single act that is senselessly destructive, there are
thousands more small, quiet acts of love, kindness and compassion. For every person who seeks to hurt, there are
many, many more that devote their lives to helping and healing. There is goodness in life that cannot be
denied. In the most magnificent vistas
and in the smallest details, look closely, for that goodness always comes
shining through. There is no limit to
the goodness of life. It grows more abundant with each new encounter. The more
you experience and appreciate the goodness of life the more there is to be
lived. Even when the cold winds blow and
the world seem to be covered in foggy shadows, the goodness of life lives on.
Open your eyes open your heart, and you will see that goodness everywhere. Though the goodness of life seems at times to
suffer setbacks, it always endures. For
in the darkest moments it becomes vividly clear that life is a priceless treasure.
And so the goodness of life is made even stronger by the very things that
would oppose it. Time and time again when
you feared it was gone forever you found that the goodness of life was really
only a moment away. Around the next
corner inside every moment, the goodness of life is there to surprise and
delight you. Take a moment to let the
goodness of life touch your spirit and calm your thoughts. Then, share your
good fortune with another. For the goodness of life grows more and more
magnificent each time it is given away.
Though the problems constantly scream for attention and the conflicts
appear to rage ever stronger, the goodness of life grows stronger still,
quietly, peacefully, with more purpose and meaning than ever before. - Ralph
Marston
1. Stop and smell the roses. Appreciate everything around you: sights, smells, music. When we don’t take time to breathe we become stressed.
2. Put down those chips. Junk food might make you feel good
for a moment but it will only make you feel unhappy down the road. Swap a
milkshake for a smoothie, Soda for a glass of water or a cup of green tea, ice
cream for a fruit bowl and so on. We can actually eat a lot more raw foods than
processed foods without gaining weight or feeling bloated.
3. Get out there. Make plans! Stop scrolling through
Instagram and snap stories feeling bad about yourself because it’s a Friday
night and you’re at home. It’s always nice to stay in every now and then but
it’s also enjoyable to get out into the world and socialize.
4. Get your beauty sleep. 7 hours minimum to function and 8
ideal. It’s impossible to be positive when you’re cranky from not getting
enough z’s.
5. Exercise. Find the exercise for you. Maybe it’s swimming,
hiking, cycling, yoga, dancing, or basketball. Working out will make you feel
powerful, happy, and accomplished.

Nanotechnology is a cutting-edge advancement within science and engineering. It is not a single field but an intense collaboration between disciplines to manipulate materials on the atomic and molecular levels. When this technology is applied to medicine, the results are fascinating, and can better our lives in drastic new ways. Its inventive and interdisciplinary nature constantly surprises the men and women behind these projects. Each nanotechnology breakthrough solves a problem many thought could not be overcome.

Three boys are boasting about their grandfathers. “My grandpa is a great swimmer,” says the first. “He can swim for hours!”
“That’s nothing,” says the second, “My grandpa goes
swimming at six in the morning every day and doesn’t get out till six at
night.”
“Big
deal!” smirks the third boy, “My grandpa started swimming in this pond 20 years
ago, and he still hasn’t come out!”
A born-and-bred New Yorker is in the
country when he sees a field of animals and says to the farmer, “What a strange-looking cow. Why doesn’t it have horns?” “Well there are several reasons,” the
farmer replies. “Some cows get their horns late, while others have their horns
cut off, and still others never even grow horns.” “And the cow?” the city man
asks. “Well, the cow doesn’t have any horns because it’s a horse.”
